This agriculture series is for the early to middle secondary years, and aims to teach Melanesian students the business and practical aspects of farming and subsistence living.

This book covers the theory and practice of the major farming activities in Melanesia such as:

• care of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats
• raising fish and crocodiles in ponds
• poultry production
• cultivation of food crops - tubers, cereals, grain legumes, spices, fruits and vegetables
• honey production
• forestry and soil management
• farm machinery maintenance and the use of agricultural chemicals.
