Corporate Governance for Financial Institutions

Since the financial crisis in 2008, best practices for corporate governance of financial institutions have significantly evolved, and international regulators have placed a greater emphasis on corporate governance. More recently the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) decided to update its Corporate Governance Guideline and created a corporate governance unit to conduct a cross-sector review of governance at larger federally regulated financial institutions.
