This teacher resource provides an inexpensive, time saving approach to recreational reading. This creative alternative to oral, ’round robin’ reading is literature-based. Theatre reading allows students to experiment with the use of language and language structure and to gain an insight into the interaction between text and the spoken word.

The accompanying activities encourage students to practise reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
