When people are mistreated for a long time, their feelings can bubble over into violence. For thousands of gold miners from Victoria, Australia, in 1851, protest was in the air. When no help came from the government, their protest quickly grew into a fight that would change Australia’s democracy forever. This was called the Eureka Rebellion. The miners lost for justice and equal rights.
